My SONY camera model is DCR-HC21 NTSC (is not a web
cam). I can use it fine via USB with both Yahoo and MSN. I can also see the
input area fine in Windows Media Encoder 9, THE PROBLEM IS THAT once I press
"Start encoding" the video in both input and output areas become black (no
image). Once I stop encoding, the video appears on the input area. I have
streamed succesfully from ATI TV Source and also from a MPEG file, but
streaming from a USB source, seems not to work as intended.
However, I was able to make it work twice (I was able to see my image in
both input and output areas and I connected with Windows Media player
succesfully and saw the streamed video fine)! This can be reproduced after
3-5 attempts (to start encoding) but ONLY when my CPU was at 100% utilization
(very busy for a while by some other running programs).
Any Clues?
Does Windows Media Encoder have any tools to debug or collect
more info and diagnose root-cause?
I am willing to use my PC as a guineea pig and install any debuggers /
patches from authorized source.
